The Lee County MPO functions as a service to citizens of Lee County for their transportation planning needs. We rely on public feedback and participation through surveys and comments at local meetings, events, workshops, and on our website. The MPO is currently seeking two at large members to sit on our Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). Occasionally, we also have at-large positions open on our Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinating Committee (BPCC). These positions are generally filled with members of the community that represent “a transportation handicapped member on an at-large basis and two other at-large members that will be filled with low income and/or minority members of the community” (p. 3, Section V.1, CAC bylaws).
There are also three CAC positions open to residents of the City of Cape Coral and one CAC position open to a resident of the City of Fort Myers. If you fit any of these descriptions and would like to be a member of the CAC or BPCC, please contact Calandra Barraco at 239-330-2243 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The Lee MPO assures that no person shall on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, family or religious status, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 and the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination or retaliation under any program or activity.
