Myers\, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)\, District One\, invites you to attend a public meeting for the Able Canal Pathway Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study from Harns Marsh to Joel Boulevard in Lee County. \nThe alternatives public meeting is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (open house format) on Thursday\, May 17\, 2018 at the Veterans Park Recreation Center\, 55 Homestead Road South\, Lehigh Acres\, FL. \nAt this public meeting\, FDOT will display the proposed pathway alternatives under consideration and the meeting will allow the public an opportunity to speak one-on-one with project team members. The public will be allowed to express their views concerning the location\, conceptual design\, and social\, economic\, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation. \nSeveral Build Alternatives for the proposed shared-use pathway are being considered in addition to the No-Build Alternative. All Build Alternatives include a connection to Harns Marsh\, located north of the Able Canal. DESCRIPTION:Click here for more information about the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board. \n  \nThe Lee County MPO Board has 18 members\, including all five county commissioners\, elected officials representing each incorporated area (city\, town\, or village)\, plus the Florida Department of Transportation District 1 Secretary or his designee.  The Board meets monthly to provide direction in planning future transportation improvements and projects. \nPublic participation is solicited without regard to race\, color\, national origin\, sex\, age\, disability\, religion\, or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Calandra Barraco with the Lee County MPO at 239-330-2243 or by email at cbarraco@leempo.com at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.
