THROUGH FY 2024/2025 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP)
TO ADD TRANSIT OPERATING FUNDS, A US 41 LIGHTING RETROFIT PROJECT, A
CRASH INVESTIGATION SCANNER AND THE ROLL FORWARD PROJECTS
The amendments the MPO Board approved are described below:
A grant project for LeeTran that will provide trips for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The
funding is included in this fiscal year (FY 2020/2021) and is for the total amount of $329,564 that
includes $164,782 in Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5310 funds that is being matched with
$164,782 in local funds.
A Traffic Crash Investigation Scanner to be purchased by the MPO using federal funds that will
be used by the Cape Coral Police Department for traffic crash investigations. The amount of
federal funds available is $184,000 and this is in the current fiscal year (FY 2020/2021).
The addition of an intersection lighting pedestrian safety project on US 41 from Bonita Beach
Road to Pondella Road. This will cover twenty-one intersections within those limits.
The roll forward report which represents projects that are scheduled to be authorized prior to
June 30th (when the previous TIP is in effect) but for various reasons they are not authorized in
that time frame. These projects will automatically roll forward in FDOT’s Work Program but need
to be accounted for in the MPO’s TIP and this amendment is being done to account for the roll
forward projects within the current TIP.
More detail about the projects that are being added as part of this amendment are included on the
proposed TIP pages that can be viewed here: TIP PAGES
