PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE
2050 LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN
The Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold a Public Hearing for the Adoption of the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) on December 12, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Lee County Administration East Facility, 2201 Second Street, Room 118, Fort Myers, Florida. This location is accessible by transit by LeeTran Route 20 and more information on service can be found at www.rideleetran.com. The 2050 Transportation Plan Adoption Summary Report and further information on the Long Range Plan can be found here: https://leempo.com/plans/long-range-transportation-plan/ The Long Range Plan identifies the cost feasible transportation projects for roads, transit and bicycle/pedestrian improvements through the year 2050.
Hard copies of the documents are available by contacting the MPO offices at 239-244-2220. Written comments may be submitted by e-mail to dscott@leempo.com, faxed to (239)-790-2695 or mailed to P.O. Box 150045 Cape Coral, FL 33915-0045. Written comments received by the end of the business day on Thursday, December 11, 2025 will be presented to the MPO Board members on December 12, 2025, where formal adoption will be decided. Public comments may also be made at the MPO Board meeting on December 12, 2025 at 9:00am at the Lee County Administration East Facility, 2201 Second Street, Room 118, Fort Myers, Florida. Review the 2050 LRTP Public Review Summary Report – Long Range Transportation Plan Summary
Our first public workshop for the development of the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) was held on May 13 at the Lakes Regional Public Library from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. with an open house format. We thank those that attended! Our second and final public workshop was held on October 7, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. at the North Fort Myers Public Library with an open house format. In addition to the public workshops, a survey was developed to gather feedback on transportation in Lee County.
